Join us for the 2020 Memories Matters 5k-10k-1Mile- Run/Walk from any location and any time that is convenient for you from Friday, July 17- Sunday, July 19! Our annual event supports the residents of our long term care memory care community- Valley Manor Care Center - in beautiful Montrose, Colorado with uplifting programming, activities and surroundings to enhance their lives and the lives of their family members. Our memory care staff are focused on providing person-centered care and practice validation therapy - a therapy which reduces stress by empathizing with elderly residents and connecting with them through listening and dignified care in their final stages of life. We are encouraging patriotic colors - red, white and blue - to symbolize unity for our country during this time of coronavirus precautions and visitation restrictions. Who will you run for? You can honor a loved one past or present by writing their name on our race t-shirt (see below). We will even post a photo and short story about your loved one on our Facebook page - please send to Erin Berge at eberge@voa.org.

Register for the run online for a $15 donation fee (plus processing fees). For local participants who live in Montrose, Delta, Ouray or San Miguel Counties, Memories Matter t-shirts are included in the donation fee and can be picked up at Valley Manor Care Center, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. If you'd like one mailed to you, please contact Debra Hayre at 970-249-9634 or dhayre@voa.org to arrange for shipping payment over the phone. Here's our 2020 race t-shirt design. OPTIONAL SWAG PACKAGE
If you'd like something to remember your race, we've partnered with the Runners Stay Strong Virtual Race Series to offer our participants a "Swag Package" that includes a T-shirt, custom race bib, and silicone wristband. The package is just $15 and includes shipping* anywhere in the continental US.
*please note that there are premiums added for XXL and XXXL sizes, and the swag package prices are $24-$29 for Canadian registrants. Orders placed by 11:59 pm on Sundays will be shipped the following week.
